Long-Term Impact

We aim to create a lasting, inclusive impact and build self-sufficient, prosperous rural communities.

About-icon02
Real Accountability

We've worked closely with communities for over two decades, earning their trust. We believe in taking full accountability for our actions, continuously seeking feedback, and striving for improvement.

About-icon03
Collaboration

We partner with communities, like-minded people, and other organisations to achieve shared goals. Sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise creates a greater impact than working alone.

At eKuhum, sustainability is at the core of our business, from farm to market. We focus on creating long-term prosperity for rural communities while reducing our carbon footprint.

A Glimpse into IIRM's Transformative Journey

IIRM has been at the forefront of rural development, empowering communities through initiatives like promoting small-scale poultry farming, providing microfinance, supporting indigenous textile businesses, and developing sustainable practices for Eri silk. Recently, IIRM launched eKuhum to foster poultry entrepreneurship, further solidifying its commitment to rural empowerment.

Founder's story

I’m a social entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in skill development and community empowerment, a PhD from MIT and degrees in engineering, social work, and watershed management.

My work in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities in the Northeast region involves implementing various social mobilization projects. These projects have reached over 100,000 beneficiaries and led to the formation of Self-Help Groups with over 1,000 women.

IIRM was established to promote self-reliance through poultry micro-entrepreneurship among rural women in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
